Humphrey Park, Urmston

This project involved the design of a single storey wrap-around extension to transform the way the homeowners use and experience their ground floor living space.

Extending across the rear and side of the property, the new addition creates a generous open-plan layout centred around a contemporary kitchen, dining, and family area. The design focuses on light, flow, and connection to the garden, replacing previously separate and enclosed rooms with a bright, cohesive living environment suited to modern family life.

A key architectural feature of the extension is the large glazed rooflight positioned above the kitchen area. This element draws natural daylight deep into the heart of the space, creating a bright focal point throughout the day while enhancing the sense of openness and volume. Full-height glazing and wide openings to the garden further strengthen the indoor-outdoor relationship and flood the interior with light.
